At SWAT Pets, we’re passionate about providing pets with the highest standard of care. Based in Lydbrook, Gloucestershire, our licensed and insured, family-run service offers Home Boarding, Doggy Day Care (small calm dogs, max 10Kg only), Home Visits (Cats, Chickens, etc), small domestic animal Transport throughout the UK is also available.
With a combined experience of nearly 80 years, including caring for our pets with complex medical needs*, we treat every animal as part of our family. We are SWAT Pets, we are Ian & Jen.

Family-Run Pet Care Since May 2013
SWAT Pets is proudly family-run; a husband-and-wife team dedicated to providing safe and loving care for small calm dogs (max 10Kg only) in our home, and other animals in yours. We understand how important pets are to their owners, which is why we treat every animal as part of our extended family, offering warmth, comfort, safety, and attention to detail.
Our approach is personal and reliable, ensuring consistent care kennels can’t always provide. By keeping our services small and focused, we create a calm, homely environment where pets feel secure and happy, giving owners complete confidence while they are away.
A Safe and Home Environment for All Small Animals
Every pet deserves to feel comfortable and secure while away from home.
At SWAT Pets, we provide a welcoming space where small calm dogs (max 10Kg only) can relax, enjoy their routines, and experience the same love and attention they would with their family.
Our home setting helps dogs settle quickly, making their stay enjoyable and as stress-free as possible. With cosy areas, gentle care, a human at all times*, and a focus on individual needs, we create an environment where every pet feels safe, happy, and truly at home during their time with us. Access to the rear garden is unhindered throughout the day, with doors open in all but the worst of weather. A lap is always available, so if a cuddle is needed, or if they’re just tired from playing in the garden, they’ll never feel alone.
To ensure their safety at all times, the gardens, property access points, and the home interior are monitored by CCTV. Feeds to these cameras can be picked up by Ian and Jen wherever they are – even if they have needed to leave site – so rest assured we will know where your dog is when staying.

When choosing care for your pet, it’s important to know they are in safe and professional hands. SWAT Pets is fully licensed by the local council for Home-Boarding, and also holds the correct Government issued “Animal Transport Authorisation” for transport of animals*, ensuring we meet all national welfare standards. This gives you complete peace of mind that your dog is cared for to the highest standards. We are fully insured, protecting both your pets and your home during our services. Following guidance from the RSPCA on responsible pet care, we put safety and wellbeing first in everything we do.
Families across the Forest of Dean trust us for reliable, professional, and loving care. Some customers have been with us since we founded in 2013. Some who have moved out of the area even return their dogs to us when they go on their holidays. Many have yet to discover us.
